who this is
Kai Koenig argues with the controls until they answer back, and the rest of the time they are in the notes. They land in short runs and then hand the room back. They work a few corners of the cabinet rather than all of them, including corners that belong to other people. Some of what a player meets tonight came out of files they created, and EVENT HORIZON is out there waiting for everybody but them. They fly deep when they fly: wave 8 on their best evening. The ledger is blank on them. Either they are careful, or the referee is slow.

what they move
Every commit of theirs, versions and mentions alike, in the nine marks the book puts on a chapter. It is the one thing a count of landings cannot say: which part of the cabinet somebody keeps standing in.

the ledger

Nothing has been charged to them. The way past a budget is an override line written into the commit, which lands here the same evening; nobody edits this number, including the pilot it is about (GR12).

4 chapters, v47 through v50, all of it inside a day. 882 lines aboard and 27 jettisoned, across 15 sectors; it moved the game, the game within, the ui and the controls. 2 other things happened while it was being written.

what a player meets
2 things in the field guide came out of a file Kai Koenig created, and every one of them is still in the cabinet tonight.
- BLACK HOLEfieldCrosses the field once, slowly, and pulls on everything — harder the closer you are.src/entities/blackhole.js
- POWERUPShandsA numbered crate drifts in each wave and blinks out after a minute.src/entities/powerups.js
what they armed the room with
- EVENT HORIZONIT IS NOT AIMING. IT IS NOT STOPPING1 firing on the filed tapes, not one ship taken
Armed against
David Friedrich,
Malte Buttjer,
felix2072, and never once against Kai Koenig. That is GR11, which has no override on it.
what they flew
| # | score | wave | time | aim | the flight in one line |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | 34320 | 8 | 8:29 | 30% | Twelve ambushes fired and eleven flown clear, thirty kraken dead, the sharpest aim on the board, and only BAD COMPANY at wave 7 got a ship before plain rocks ended it at wave 8. |
| 2 | 32880 | 10 | 8:21 | 26% | Wave 10 without an ambush fired, 27 kraken dead, a flurry of 31 and the sharpest aim on the board, from a ship that barely used its engine. |
The flight meter: 1 landing used since they last flew, and that flight was 2026-09-11 · 34320 · wave 8 · 8:29. One sealed tape covers three (GR14).
what it does to the others
David Friedrichlanded in their work on 4 versions
felix2072they landed in this one on 1 version
Tuning somebody else’s numbers is allowed and costs a few lines; gutting their work is GR4 and costs an override. Which of the two happened is in the chapters, not in this count.
in their own words
- v50
Kai Koenig put crates in the field, one a wave, each wearing a picture of what is inside. Catch one and press its number: 1 is a machine gun that runs out, 2 is a turret that stands for twenty seconds and shoots whatever is coming at you, kraken first.
- v49
Kai looked at a cabinet that had always let a parked ship get away with it, and sent something in at walking pace that pulls on everything, pays for nothing it eats, and leaves the way it came.
- v48
Kai Koenig put fire on F and the bomb on X, which is the end of reaching across the keyboard for L in the middle of a wave.
- v47
Kai Koenig gave the solo pilot WASD on top of the arrows, borrowed from the second seat and handed straight back the moment somebody takes it.
