David Friedrich decided that an ambush which shouts its name for two seconds and then leaves you guessing was only half a joke, and gave every event a glyph of its own - hung at the foot of the screen with a ring counting down beside it, held there for exactly as long as the thing is really happening, and walked off into the bottom left corner afterwards to stand with everything else the run has thrown at you. Their own traps get a second frame and refuse to hold still.
