David Friedrich took the splash apart and hung it back up in two columns, then bolted PRESS ENTER to the floor so it could never again be pushed off the bottom by somebody else's field guide entry. The chronicle got a shelf of plates across the foot of it, the flight records got a corner to be empty in, and the pilot cards learned to draw teeth.

While v7 was on the cabinet, David Friedrich changed the rules.

The rules themselves were altered: tools/chronicle.sh now writes two more files nobody typed - docs/chronicle-song.js, the room a chapter is read in, and docs/chronicle.js, the book in the one shape the splash screen can read without fetching anything. Both are machine-written and neither is anybody's work, so tools/golden-check.sh has to know that before it starts asking who deleted what. tools/docs.sh dresses the same switch on the notes pages, because walking out of a chapter into the architecture should not be walking out of the building. And .claude/settings.json stops asking permission for this project's own tools, once per run, forever.
On this day David Friedrich invoked an override: GR6 - the soundtrack is one idea and thirteen hundred lines of it. A sequencer written in POSIX sh is verbose rather than complicated, and splitting it would invent an afternoon nobody worked.
