The rules themselves were altered: the workshop rather than the cabinet, in three parts. The exporter learns that two documents folded into one file share a pair of speakers, so whichever is on top is the one making the noise. The orb gets the berth its own light needs and a feathered edge instead of a canvas boundary - GR13 ground, and the owner is the one moving it. And the seven skills go on the allow list, so the rituals this project is run by stop asking permission to be run.

The rules themselves were altered: tools/export.sh made a copy of the cabinet for somewhere that will only take one file, and it left the book behind, because docs/ is thirty-odd pages that link to each other and a link needs a docs/ to land in. It comes too now: the chapters ride as text in a table and the page hands one at a time to an <iframe srcdoc>, so a chapter keeps its own body class, its own stylesheet and its own song without any of the three arguing with the game underneath. Nothing reaches across the frame in either direction - a link posts a message and the page answers with the next chapter - because somewhere with a sandbox round it is not a place to bet on two documents being allowed to touch. The shared parts are put in on the way through rather than baked into thirty-four copies, and the plates are resized on the way in, 320px by default, --px for more. No resizer on the machine means the book is left out and said so rather than shipped broken.

The rules themselves were altered: tools/golden-check.sh says yes or no to every commit that lands here, and nothing said yes or no to it. Both of its failure modes are silent: a check that quietly stops firing turns a red line into a suggestion, and a check that fires when it should not gets skimmed past, which takes the true ones with it. So tools/referee-test.sh builds a miniature cabinet in a temporary directory - Ada Vex owns the ground, Bo Renn turned up later, and the tests fly as Bo, where everything is somebody else's - makes a scripted change, and asserts what the referee actually said. 38 cases. The pre-commit hook runs them whenever the referee itself moves, and only then, because twenty seconds is not the price of an ordinary landing.

The rules themselves were altered: GR13 - some ground belongs to the owner of the repository rather than to everybody, and today there is one piece of it: the room the book is read in. The orb's appearance, its motion, what it says, how it answers the sound and the sound itself are one pilot's, so that corner keeps one voice instead of thirteen. Red line, no override; the rest of tools/chronicle.sh is ordinary work and stays everybody's.

The rules themselves were altered: tools/chronicle.sh gains a voice section in the song heredoc - the thought balloon, its fifty-odd lines with the pilot and the chapter read off the page's own credits, and the spring the rock is kicked with when a thought lands - alongside the ring rework in listen() and ring(), which now folds a zero-crossing window into a signed trace and no longer reports the gain ramp as one long onset.
